I’m Barbara Finn

Barbara Finn grew up in New England. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University winning a Traveling Scholarship to study in England.
After several years she returned to the US to further her art career.

She worked for many years as a Clinical Therapist/Art Therapist in a hospital and a variety of other settings. Her mission was to help her patients to understand, prevent and cope effectively with psychological distress and dysfunction and promote a sense of well being.

After finishing her work she came to Portugal and has been a resident a for over a decade. With her husband, Richard Hewitt, she started a partnership in VinoTours.net offering cultural/wine tours of Portugal & Spain.

In addition to traveling she enjoys baking and hunting mushrooms, drawing, painting and gardening which she finds very therapeutic. Her work is founded on the basis of mindfulness or cognitive behavioral methodology.

Her educational background includes a degree in fine art, printmaking, art therapy and psychology.

At home in Portugal, Barbara welcomes all kinds of stray animals and the occasional lost tourist.
